Language Arts Department Mission Statement
Mount Si High School's Language Arts Department Philosophy
A language arts curriculum must meet the shifting demands of a highly complex informational and technological society. Through language, students acquire the skills to assume the independent learning responsibilities required for their future roles in a society demanding adaptable individuals.
Library Department Mission Statement
The Mount Si High School Library has over 19,000 books, magazines and reference materials to support the curriculum and fulfill student academic needs.
The mission of the library is to teach information literacy and ensure that students are effective users of information and ideas.
Mathematics Department Mission Statement
Our goal is to create a mathematically literate student. We have ambitious expectations for all, with accommodation for those who need it. Teachers construct engaging mathematical lessons, challenging and supporting students to learn concepts well. Effective use of technology, including graphic calculators and computers, enriches the range and quality of investigations. The strategies we use are varied to build new knowledge and reinforce prior knowledge.

Mount Si High School CTE, in partnership with the community, encourages students to create and explore various career pathways, connection education to careers. Every student will have the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to meet the challenges they face upon entering the work force, and post-secondary education.
Our department's goal is to provide students with a rich, varied, and rigorous science program that produces scientifically literate citizens whom are knowledgeable, proficient and enthusiastic about science.

Special Services Department Mission Statement
The mission of the Mount Si High School Special Services Department is to provide a safe environment which promotes respect, self-confidence, and motivates students to learn and act responsibly. The purpose of the department is to provide an appropriate education for students with disabilities, in the least restrictive environment, that will enable them to maximize their potential academically, vocationally, and socially, enabling them to lead healthy, productive, and meaningful lives. We believe education is the shared responsibility of the student, home, school, and community.
Health & Physical Education Department Mission Statement
Mount Si High School is committed to a quality Health and Physical Education program for every student. The Health/PE department incorporates a multi-dimensional approach to well-being that promotes individual responsibility. We emphasize an active process of becoming aware of and making choices towards a healthier, more fulfilling life by giving students the skills and knowledge needed to establish and sustain an active lifestyle.
